Architecture: Honorable Mention 2015 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Do not will be the signs that we raised through our senses one of the main interference in understanding the reality that surrounds us?
The photographic work aims to show that propose alternate realities that go beyond simple information we receive through our senses.
The interpretation that our brain makes of light can lead us to restrict and limit the perception we have of spaces that surround us, interfering with its aesthetic, with its harmony and even to their function.
This work is to approach EDP's head office in Porto - Portugal, in particular the area around the Auditorium. This area, located in an underground floor is therefore very dependent on their lighting. I set out to produce a photographic series Black & White, using the negative of photographs to transform shadows into light and vice versa. This way, I give to know another way of perceiving that space.
AUTHOR
I am 49 years old. I was born in Porto, Portugal, on April 17, 1967.
I graduated in Electrical Engineering and my profession is related to this area.
My interest in photography came from young. I always considered it as a way to perpetuate a moment, with all the associated emotions and a way to share and spread my way of seeing the world.
I do not like being stuck to one style. I try to diversify my work, showing simple compositions that convey aesthetic sense and also harmony.
