ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photograph was taken inside a massive spiral staircase in Tokyo, Japan.
The architectural form reveals a perfect geometry that gradually dissolves into darkness.
From above, the viewer’s gaze is irresistibly drawn downward, as if falling into the unknown.
I wanted to express the sensation of surrendering to an invisible force — the abyss that lies within both architecture and the human mind.
The image explores how light and structure can evoke psychological depth, where beauty becomes inseparable from fear.
In this monochrome space, order and emptiness coexist, and time seems to spiral endlessly toward silence.
