Solitude or Serenity? Or could it be both? Or neither? That is for oneself to determine. A scene that looks isolated to one could be peaceful to another. This photograph is meant to question people's viewpoints amidst a stunning black and white scene. A perspective mind fosters wisdom everywhere. German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche notably stated, “There are no facts, only interpretations".

Owen Emerson Prucey is a 19-year-old self-taught photographer based in Pittsburgh. His work aims to capture memories we hold on to, the isolating spaces we get stuck in, and the fragile connections that pull us back towards each other, using a variety of photographic styles.

Being Japanese American is a significant aspect that shapes his perspective within the artistic space of photography. Often feeling suspended “in between” cultures, he developed a way of seeing things from both the inside and out. He wants his work to question him and anyone who sees it.
