Most people come to view this landscape after dark, as the fiber optics on the ground plane come alive with color. But immediately before sunset, the scene takes on a completely different look and feel, captured here, in lieu of what you would typically expect to see.

AUTHOR
Catherine (CJ) Presmyk developed an interest in photography at an early age in Chicago, when gifted a Kodak Instamatic camera at age ten. She took photography classes in high school and college to further her knowledge of the craft. Over the years, she combined her photography interest with family excursions. Since her retirement from the University of California San Diego in 2019, CJ pivoted to her photography hobby, and is an active member and Board member of the Poly Photo Camera Club of San Diego, and Women in Creative Photography, among others.
While CJ enjoys photographing the natural and built environments, she is an equal opportunity photographer with an eye for any subject matter that can tell an interesting story. CJ strives to capture the interesting details of everyday life, the striking patterns and visual elements of the built environment, and the beauty in nature. Sometimes the ordinary can be extraordinary!
