ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I have experienced some amazing luck, even though I have spent many days and hours waiting for the right conditions at my favorite spot—Avoca Beach, NSW, Australia. The storms, the calm, the wonderful sunrises, and the many sailboats passing by, all coming from the busy port of Sydney, create a unique atmosphere.

Very early one morning, around 4 a.m., I drove down to my favorite spot to see what the ocean had in store. It was warm, and the predawn light was beginning to glow on the horizon. The waves rolled in beneath a canopy of glowing gray skies. I noticed a yacht coming up the coast from Sydney, and after waiting for the perfect moment, I centered the yacht in my frame. I left the beach shortly after, knowing I had captured something special. This adds to the collection of sailboat photos I now have from along the coast of Australia.

AUTHOR
My early career was as a Tennis Professional, a role in Product Marketing, an IT Security Consultant, but all throughout an artist.

Forty-five years as a Photographer I'm still inspired by photography.

With numerous photographic exhibitions and awards (Olive Cotton Portrait Award of a Blind Albino Indian girl.)

I have created over 100 of these individual photographic stories/exhibits.
Polaroid, 35mm, Large Format Film, Wet Plate, Mobile Digital and DSLR formats are all used throughout my photographic art.

More recently (2021- 2024) I have been focused on my Digital Black & White artistic endeavors. These can be seen on my website www.richardofarrell.com.

I'm also a Pastel Drawing artist with a collection of over 3000 drawings, a 'naïve' style but with a strong intention for fun. @richard.ofarrell

I am always working on numerous new projects, stories and new ideas.
