ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Looking across Loch Slapin on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, we see some small houses nestled beneath the towering peaks of the Cuillin mountains. Framed by shattered limestone in the foreground, this long exposure softens the texture of the water and emphasises the wind blowing the cloud in across the summits in the distance. This image is part of a series on small houses in huge landscapes on the Isle of Skye that highlights our desire for solitude and reflects upon the reality of achieving the peace so many of us crave

AUTHOR
Andrew has photographed subjects as varied as the football World Cup, glamorous weddings and the World Custard Pie Championships. His work has been published in all the UK national newspapers and around the world from Japan to India to Australia.

His photographic soul can be found on the west coast of Scotland, and the Isle of Skye in particular. He now focuses primarily on the island, its landscapes and people.

He has published two books. Skye At Night showcases the people and landscapes of the Isle of Skye after dark and is the product of five years of photography on the island. Glas is his second book, a monochrome image study of the Isle of Skye set in twelve chapters with accompanying Gaelic verse.
