ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken in Vík southern Iceland, in 2024.
As the sun was setting, the last light touched the church on the hill.
The world felt quiet, and I felt something I can't quite explain—
a kind of peace, maybe a kind of memory.

I converted the image to black and white later,
because the colors, beautiful as they were, felt like they said too much.
I wanted to show just the shapes, the light, and the silence.
To me, this church in the distance felt like it belonged to a dream—
not grand, not loud, just quietly there.

Sometimes, I think photography isn’t just about capturing a scene,
but about capturing a feeling.
This one is about calmness, distance,
and how even in a big, empty space—
you can still feel warmth.

I am a South Korean photographer with a long-standing career spanning various genres of photography. I have a particular passion for landscapes, nightscapes, long exposures, minimalism and black&white pictures. Recently, my work has been primarily focused on fine art photography.
