Architecture: Honorable Mention 2025 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Eur Water Centre in Vigna Murata in Rome designed by Francesco Palpacelli is one of approximately 50 water centres that serve the city, thus making up for the differences in altitude. Characterised by the imposing 120-metre high piezometric tower, which makes it the fifth tallest building in Rome together with the Europarco Tower, it is a true architectural masterpiece, so much so that it won the IN/ARCH award in 1989 and the 1993 award for best industrial work from the European Convention on Steel Construction.
