Architecture: Honorable Mention 2025 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Spiral of Light was born at Antinori nel Chianti Classico, a place where wine, earth, and architecture meet in quiet harmony. Standing at the base of this spiral staircase, I felt as if I were inside a living sculpture a space that breathes, curves, and leads the eye gently upward toward the sky.
Stripped of color, the staircase becomes more than a structure; it transforms into a metaphor for human longing. Each step, each curve, reflects our desire to rise above the ordinary, to chase light, to find something beyond ourselves. The soft glow at the top feels like a distant promise, a quiet invitation to dream.
Antinori is famous for its wines, but its architecture holds a secret poetry. It reminds us that even in the most functional spaces, there is room for wonder. By focusing on form and light alone, the image invites us to pause and see the hidden stories in the shapes around us stories of patience, craft, and silent aspiration.
In this spiral, I saw not just concrete and steel, but the human spirit reaching upward. “Spiral of Light” is my attempt to capture that silent, universal urge: to move, to grow, to find light.
