AUTHOR
Pierluigi Gualano
Born in Turin, a city with industrial roots and discreet charm, where rigor and beauty meet amidst fog, arcades, and sunsets. It is here that he hones his attentive and sensitive gaze, capable of capturing light and silence. His journey into photography began in 2015, almost by chance, but it soon became an integral part of his identity.
He started with landscape photography, where nature and time set the rules. Mountains, skies, and open spaces taught him patience and balance. Over time, he also approached aerial photography, which allowed him to view the world from a new perspective: from above, shapes become clearer, and symmetries more eloquent.
He later discovered street photography, where the unpredictable becomes narrative. In the street as in landscapes, black and white is often his choice: it removes the superfluous and reveals the essence. Every image is a fragment—an emotion taking shape.
Turin is both his home and his muse, but his gaze reaches farther: he also shoots elsewhere, exploring places, faces, and silences that move him. He loves to alternate between iconic views and hidden corners, in search of the detail that deserves attention.
With his camera around his neck, he walks, observes, listens. His photography stems from a desire to preserve what often slips away: a moment, a light, a gesture. Each shot is living memory, a moment that keeps on speaking.
