Architecture: 2nd Place Winner 2025 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is the view of Tokyo's cityscape from the Bunkyo Civic Center. The contrast between man-made structures and the timeless form of the mountain creates a subtle dialogue—one shaped by order, scale, and light.
Rendered in black and white, it removes the distraction of color to focus on structure and tonal balance. The relationship between the buildings and the distant peak evokes an inner tension, defined by rhythm and space.
Rather than capturing a single dramatic moment, this is an observation on presence, stillness, and the passage of time. I hope to express a quiet sense of humility—how human ambition stands, momentarily, before the enduring power of nature.
