There is geometry in the humming of the strings by Kerstin Arnemann (Malta)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image intends to show that architecture and music share a common cultural lineage. The images consist in abstract art forms based on rhythm, proportion and harmony.
The same characteristics that please the eye also please the ear. Musical terms such as rhythm, texture, harmony, proportion, dynamics, and articulation refer both to architecture and to music.
In architecture and music rhythm is referred to the regular or coordinated repetition of lines, figures, or forms which are considered as a measure for organizing forms and spaces in architecture.
The image represent different geometrical forms offering rhythm and movement. The combination of forms was meant to recreate a whole where all the parts interact harmoniously with each other, just like in a musical composition.
Architectural shapes are revealed and formed by light. The harmony in the images is represented by the use of light. I try to design space and to convey balance in the relationship of buildings in terms of shapes, patterns and textures. The viewer is invited to explore the shapes and repetition of lines in the same way like listening to a musical composition/ masterpiece.
AUTHOR
For Kerstin the best way of expressing herself is photography.
One of Kerstin's specializations is Fine Art, Monochrome long Exposure in Architecture and “Architectural Street Photography”.
Photography enables her to express her own personal vision and to recreate the world in her images according to her imagination thus giving them a personal note. She avoids showing the viewer a simple game of patterns and lines, but tries to reach the soul of the structure. Meanwhile, in the innovative “Architectural Street photography” she combines two subjects of equal importance. The presence of people is intended to reveal the architectural object.
Her main aim is to create images that provoke emotion, stimulating the mind of the viewer and to convey her ideas and feelings of beauty which surround us everywhere.
Her photography work can be found on the most important photographic websites.
