ENTRY DESCRIPTION
MOMA exhibited a 'Rain Room' for several months. The room was designed so that people could walk through a field of rain without being touched by a single water droplet. There were heat sensors next to the sprinklers that enabled this to happen. The room was lit by a single light on on end of the room. Visiting this place was an extraordinary experience for me and I'm thankful to have witnessed it.
AUTHOR
My name is Caleb Stein. Live between London and New York with family in both cities. I'm an Art History major (with a focus on photo history) at Vassar college. I've been photographing for the past 4 and a half years and took analog and digital classes for three years of high school. I interned for architectural photographer based in NYC Todd Eberle for 2 months and camera obscura photographer based in Beijing Shi Guorui for 6 weeks. Last spring I took a six week photo critique class at SVA with Seth Greenwald and this past winter I took a workshop with Richard Rothman at ICP called B&W Printing II. This summer I will be interning in the photography department at Christie's Auction House and I'll be taking three classes at ICP (Regarding Intimacy and Light At Night: In And Around The City, and The Extended Portrait). Next year I will be taking Judy Linn's digital photography class at Vassar and field work with Mitch Epstein.
I became passionate about photography after seeing Ray Metzker and Eugene Smith photographs.
