Landscape: Honorable Mention 2014 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This plate is part of long time project “Night Exposure”.
Day before, I had broken my cable release, so I bought a tape to bind the button of my analogue camera. I went on location with my medium format camera but the weather was terrific: huge amount of dark clouds and hard wind….and my cable release was broken.
I tied up the shutter button with some tape, good for nearly 30 minutes exposure. For brief moments the crescent moon was just visible through the clouds and Timanfaya profile was thankfully lighted.
Only when I developed the negative I noticed there was something recorded on it.
I think the magic of night and analogue photography is all in this !
Don’t care if it’s a path already traveled by famous artists, just say to myself I had(ve) in my hands a fantastic Hasselblad and several rolls of Kodak Tmax100 who asked me just to be used … and I did it.
