ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania about two years ago when I was seventeen. Elephants have always been my favorite animal since I was a little kid. When I was young, I loved how big they were and just their overall aurora of friendship and happiness. As I got older, they were still a favorite of mine, but I began to admire more and more about them as I learned about their sense of family and emotional personalities. When I was taking the photo, I just saw it as a cool shot, but as I looked at it more and more I felt it symbolized something even greater. That maybe the elephant was looking at his reflection in the water, as a moment of self examination, like we ourselves do everyday.
