ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The work was taken in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China, in 2011. The image reflecting a quiet and pure breath. I selected the daily landscape directly and captured the nuances in order to find a breakthrough in the traditional form of photography and reflect the unique qualities of black and white image through a digital camera.

AUTHOR
Hanji Zhou was born in Zhuji, China in 1989. She received her MFA from Maryland Institute college of Art and BFA from China Academy of Art in 2011. Zhou has exhibited in the US and abroad including shows at Fox 3 Gallery in Baltimore, Muduri Gallery in Beijing, and Chinese Academy of Art Gallery in Hangzhou. In 2012, Zhou received a scholarship from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Hanji Zhou lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland.
