ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Beacon Felgueiras or Felgueiras Lighthouse or Beacon's Jetty Felgueiras or Beacon Head of Water on the right bank of the Douro River, is a Portuguese lighthouse that is located at the tip of the jetty of the same name, in the parish of Foz do Douro , Port City. It is a hexagonal tower masonry apparent granite, ten feet tall. Has balcony and red flashlight, and a small annex building with plastered and whitewashed walls. The designation 'jetty Felgueiras' was awarded for having been built towards the stone Felgueiras, that lies to the west boundary. Before its decommissioning, the beacon had a range of 9 nautical miles, emitting a red lightning every 5 seconds
