AUTHOR
Growing up in Munich and spending a lot of time in Musicland studios, meant Alex spent his youth surrounded by creative and exotic characters. He moved to London in the 80's at the end of the punk movement and began taking pictures of people and things that interested him.
' I love to look a little longer at things and this probably comes from being surrounded by unusual characters as a child.
My father was a musician and had a lot of interesting and colourful people
in his life. I often stared a little too long and probably still do.
I'm interested in the 'Self'. I guess you would call it the Ego. I like to document, with my camera, the way people present their Ego to the world.
Be it through their fashion or belongings.
At present my focus is on Americana - Americana refers to artifacts, or a collection of artifacts, related to the history, geography, folklore, and cultural heritage of the United States.
