ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I took this portrait of dancer Leonard Mickelo of Bangarra Dance Theatre Australia for a small magazine in Sydney, SX News. Leonard was a joy to shoot, fluid in front of the camera and an ability to project. Bangarra is an aboriginal dance group based in Sydney, dancing both traditional and contemporary aboriginal dance. My mother who passed away recently always said this was her favourite photograph of mine, so decided to enter it.

I'm a photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. I've been working as a photographer for about 7 years. I started shooting a lot of street and photojournalism, but have since shifted to fashion and portraiture. My style is always evolving, but I'm always looking for a truth or sincerity to my photographs.
