ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Sometimes Nature offers conditions that would be a photographer’s dream even if he worked in a studio. A lot of time and effort had been invested to go to this special place in elephant territory, where a slither of land joins two small islands and is covered by shallow water. Patrolling the lake on a small canoe, the circumstances combined a very peaceful lake with no ripples, with the smoke of some remote bush fires coming onto the water (creating the surreal effect of a landscape with no visible horizon) and the desire of an elephant to walk from one island to the next. When, in addition, two birds started to move toward the elephant, it was clear that Nature had decided to create a very special encounter.
