Wildlife: Honorable Mention 2014 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Bedouins smile when they see a Fennec. For them it is a sign of good luck and no strange superstitions, but because they know they are close to an oasis.
The desert fox is an animal full of curiosities .With only 1 kilo weight the Fennec is the smallest canid that exists on the planet, because you only have a height of 20 cm on the shoulders and 40 inches long. Its most distinctive features are its coat sand-colored, long and woolly tail with which he wraps his sleep, very short nose and especially its large ears, which help you to both hear the slightest sound as to radiate excess heat to the outside. Usually chosen as an example of adaptation to the desert environment, often in opposition to small-eared fox that lives in the Arctic Circle
