ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The idea was to create images that display a very significantly reduced visual information of a running track in a stadium. Running has accompanied my life since the late 60s of the last century. At my first picture that was published by 1x.com in October 2013 a running track was displayed from the perspective of a 100 m runner. A second similar image, published in February 2014, showed another perspective. The third image showed an even more abstract version and distilled approach which is suitable to be displayed on an advertising poster for an athletics meeting. This here is the fourth image, again from the perspective of a 100 m runner like the first image but with additional lane numbers in the front. Hope you enjoy !
AUTHOR
Born 1949 in Lüdenscheid, Germany.
Hans-Martin Dölz studied Mathematics and Business Administration at the Universities of Bochum and Göttingen and graduated in 1979 with a master’s degree in Business Administration.
He began to create art after retiring from his job. Initially he took photographs and changed their appearance through heavy alienation into mainly abstract images. He also tried to create images without any camera, only by using computer algorithms like “processing”.
Since 2013 he focuses more on photography without alteration. Most of his images are inspired by lines, patterns and shapes that are found in the man-made and natural environment.
Hans-Martin Dölz now lives and works near Stuttgart, Germany.
