ENTRY DESCRIPTION
“Ship to Shore Dance” is an image taken at Malta Freeport. By using long exposure in this image, I wanted to show the real essence of its activity and the soul of the Freeport, emphasizing on the strength of an invisible network, which keeps the world running!
I used light in different intensities and my imagination, to highlight the activity of this vast, invisible network, as a reference to how container shipping is bringing the whole world together into one city. My intention is to stimulate the mind of the viewer to interpret the message conveyed through the use of light, shade and tonal value, associated with an abstract concept.
I prefer working almost exclusively in black and white tones to give my images a uniquely timeless appeal, both visually and in terms of the atmosphere and emotions.
This is the first photo in a series that will show different iconic and powerful
views of the Malta Freeport.
AUTHOR
For Kerstin the best way of expressing herself is photography.
