Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2015 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The bulk of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain, looms over the top of the sharpest ridge in mainland Britain, the Aonach Eagach. The image represents the awe and fear one can feel when wandering alone in the high hills, highlighting the seemingly impenetrable nature of both the ridge and the mountain beyond. The image is also a study in form and texture, capturing the balance between hard rock, sloping hillside and the rolling clouds.
