Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2015 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Gjógv is a small village on the island of Eysturoy, Faroe Islands. Taken in September, 2015, I was hiking in the area; my search for complete solitude is aptly fulfilled. With blustery winds at my back, I watch the cruise ship sail by from Iceland, bound for Norway. As I stand in the cold, setting up for my long exposure, I can only imagine those on board the ship are jealous of my freedom to climb the windswept mountains nearby. As the ship disappears out of site, I wipe the salt spray off my filter...
AUTHOR
I have been an avid photographer for about 20 years. I started developing my prints in the wet darkroom, and moved to the digital darkroom about 8 years ago. I am just getting started in the public sphere, and enjoy sharing my art with others. Black and white is my passion, although I use colour where it makes sense for me.
