ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Griffin is a series of tintype photographs made with extensive chemical processes. These portraits examine how my connections with people, places and objects have evolved over time. Some of the relationships I hold with the subject matter have grown while others have diminished. Because this practice requires a darkroom on hand and is time sensitive, it allows me to slow down and interact with the subjects, most of which, I do not get to see very often. Just as the final image is one of a kind, each experience is unique to me. While each photograph tends to have imperfections in the chemistry, called process marks, this relates to the turmoil that a relationship can often have.

Bryson Galle is a photographer living in Ruston, Louisiana. He was born in Dothan, Alabama and has moved numerous times around the south. Bryson expects to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Louisiana Tech University in the fall of 2015. Galle has worked for Lifeway FUGE camps as the staff videographer and photographer. While he practices slower photographic methods, such as tintypes, he is able to interact with his subjects, most of which he does not see often. With this in mind, he hopes to enhance the relationships that have sustained or restore the ones that have weakened.
