ENTRY DESCRIPTION
My aim was to gather portraits of people and photograph them in their own environment in order to capture the whole atmosphere of the place and character. I'm allowing the viewer travel back in time in fraction of a second, just like in time machine. Without any additional words, just vision.
The desire to touch the history, to live in it for a second and my love for everything that's vintage had leaded me into this type of portraiture. The mystery of "how it used to be be back in the days" is still growing and hasn't been fully satisfied yet. Here, you can view only small part of life time project that I will work on. I don't know but the more world moves forward, the more I try to escape from it, especially from 'rat race'... I always try to travel back to get a moment of reflect upon our fragile life.
The image wasn't staged, all equipments present on the image are from the 1900's. The image was made digitally although I've turned it into B&W and edited it, so it looks like taken in the past. There was no manipulation involved. The image was made using 600D camera and a help of one speedlight with soft-box, as the light conditions were really low.
AUTHOR
Animal lover. Individual persona. Open minded, yet strong character that’s always searching for deeper meaning.
I believe that everything happens within a reason.
Sometimes I act like a kid, which can be noted in the series under the title ‘Face it’, however they have another, much darker and deeper background at the same time. I’m a lover of everything that’s vintage. Capturing people as they are, the true characters, stories and emotions… that’s what my photography is about or at least I try to.
