ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This large turtle came to rest on the reef on one of the dives in Maldives. Sitting peacefully it looked right into my camera. I used one strobe on full power with side lighting and the other on bare minimum power for fill light to get the turtle highlighted.
AUTHOR
I did a lot of wildlife photography before 1995 in the film days. Won some awards as also had pictures and articles published. Post that i took a long sabbatical as my daughter was born in 1996 and son in 2001. I finally got the itch again in 2006 and in 2007 decided to start wildlife photography again, albeit with a twist - only underwater. Since then i have logged over 1400 + dives and have been getting images from the underwater marine world. Have won a few international awards including one in the ocean art competition as well as local awards. Have had some articles published in wildlife, rail and airline magazines, national and international. Although this is not my main source of earning, it is still a driving force that gives me the energy and happiness that life can offer. I have also been part of the team as principal photographer, that dived the Angrai Banks for the very first time in India, sponsored by the National institute of Oceanography, Goa, India. I have also helped the Bombay Natural History Society(BNHS) in many of their ocean related projects.
