ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The skyline of Singapore is filled with apartment blocks. These fire escape stairs give a unique view and at the same time some air to breath in this condensed city.

AUTHOR
Patrick van Dam, 1970, is a Dutch art director turned photographer. He spent most of his working years in editorial (re)design and creative direction. Although he has dealt with photography most of his career he has only switched focus to being a professional photographer since 2012. This hasn’t gone unnoticed, as he has already won a variety of awards. Currently Patrick lives in Singapore and is working on both personal and commissioned projects.

With his strong feel for aesthetics and a keen eye for composition he captures the beauty of everyday things. Whether it’s people, architecture or landscapes. Working with available light gives him the ultimate feeling of freedom. Capturing an atmosphere without restrictions. Pure and untouched. Almost film-like. As if you pressed Pause. Tranquil and timeless images with a well-balanced composition. Silhouettes, shapes and symmetry give each image a strong identity.
