ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This series is inspired by the allusion of "Mary Magdalene" from Bible. It symbolizes the transition of female roles in our history (from the images of "abandoned, fallen or fatal" to "neutral, respectable, or spiritual").
It could also indicate the struggle in the collective human's souls, in the seesaw battles between "Humanity and Beastliness", "Goodness and Evil" and "Moral and Degeneration".
AUTHOR
I come from Taiwan. I got a master degree from Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) in Taiwan. Now I'm teaching Visual Arts in universities and colleges.
For me, the most difficult things to express by photography is to depict one's internal feelings , thoughts, and beliefs. Therefore, I prefer to infuse elements of aesthetics and philosophy into my photos, rather than only record what I see from the outside world. That's to say: " I feel, I think, so I shoot."
My works reflect the mixture of both western and oriental elements. I try to stride across the boundary of form and structure by keeping trying, and make the invisible visible.
