Fine Art: Honorable Mention 2015 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
When I was a young boy I came into contact with a wild vixen whilst walking a dimly lit path on the outskirts of my hometown. Through the image Totem Fox I wanted to capture the heart-stopping moment when the wild breaches the barriers of the city and reminds us that the line between humans and wildlife is not as clear-cut as we would like to believe in, and that in the animal kingdom, the only thing we can count on is unpredictability, that the unexpected should be expected.
AUTHOR
I am a self-trained visual artist from Donegal, Ireland. My work is based around the exploration of different characters and the physical landscape around them. I see creating and experiencing art as a way to enhance the human experience. I struggled to understand the implications of certain life events and through visual expression I am able to reflect upon these experiences with clearer vision and profound thought.
