My photographic training really began at age 8 when I received (as a beloved Christmas gift) my first SLR. I noticed that immediately I was attracted to landscapes: out of any photographic subject matter I could choose — even from the very beginning — I almost knew instinctively that I was going to make landscape photography the foundation of my life’s creative work.


Before becoming a professional fine art photographer I received bachelor's and masters degrees in political science (from the University of Maryland and Virginia Tech, respectively).
