ENTRY DESCRIPTION
‘Out like a light’ meaning not awake or not aware of and responding to one’s environment. Having a condition for over a third my life and six diagnosis’s makes it a part of me, and all the heart- ache and pain as become part of me. For a long time I didn’t want to know more, as I was very young when it all happened I was angry I wanted to push it all aside and forget it all just turn up to doctors appointments and listen to something new then forget it all happened and just block it out, but now I am older I want to know more, I want to find more, this is my body and I want to understand what is happening I want to take control.

I have used alternative processes to create the work including liquid emulsion, cyanotype - all analogue photography

Grace is a bespoke potrait photographer, she works with making the personal political and often makes her work tactile to portray feelings that cannot be explained fully through words. This can be done through sewing, burning into the photographs or painting on to them, but it makes each photograph a unique one.
