ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photograph is part of an ongoing project, "Heading to? " which examines the inner world of youth, lost in a world whose values are always more difficult to find. Backgrounds represents an unreal world in which youth is trapped with its own thoughts.
The multiplication of the subject emphasizes the various personalities in which the subject is confined: his own prison of soul, with self-imposed barriers.
AUTHOR
Pierre-Emmanuel Fehr is a Swiss photographer based in Geneva. His photographs combine an instinctive aesthetic of contrasts and shades of gray in monochrome works, and are always based on the human being and its place in the society. His latest project discusses the differences between « bank workers » and « street workers ». The elements of the scenery are used as a representation of the moral or physical barriers of the conditions of both groups of workers. In his current ongoing project, « Heading to ? », he is showing a dark side of the inner world of youth, in a dreamy anxiety atmosphere.
