ENTRY DESCRIPTION
People are returning to the city after finishing the 2nd largest gathering of Islamic religious festival at Dhaka, Bangaldesh.
Bishwa Ijtema (or Bishsho Istema, the World or Global Congregation or Meeting) is an annual Islamist conference held at Tongi, Bangladesh by the river Turag once everyyear during the mid-winter. It is the 3rd largest Muslim congregation in the world after the Arbaeen gathering in Kerbala, Iraq and Hajj. The event focuses on prayers and supplication and does not allow political discussion. The local police estimated the number of attendees of 2007ijtema to be 3 million while in 2010 the number of attendees was 5 million. The Number of attendees has increased almost the double afterwards and the organizers decided to arrange two congregation in consecutive weeks to tackle the huge number of people.

Saud A Faisal is one of the prominent initiators of many photographic activities and organizations in Bangladesh. “An inspirer ”, is what he prefers to be termed as over a “photographer”.
Faisal started to develop his passion for photography in an early student age and completed his Diploma in Black & White Photography from Alliance Française de Dhaka in 1996. During his long active endeavors in photography, Faisal has received recognitions from various national and international arenas. He organized, participated and also served in different capacities in a wide range of exhibitions and workshops.
