Portrait: Honorable Mention 2015 (professional)
AUTHOR
I became interested in photography in high school and continued working to improving my skills through college. After leaving college I opened two small photo studios in the Washington, DC area. In the late 60s I put my camera down and concentrated on computers working as a programmer for several years. From programming, I entered the field of accounting and financial management. During this long departure from photography which lasted for approximately 25 years I always knew that I would one day pick up my camera again and not look back. It was while living in Naples, Florida that I met Clyde Butcher, a well known B&W landscape photographer. Clyde uses his 8X10 camera to create beautiful images of the Florida swamps. Seeing his work inspired me to once again pick up my camera and start shooting. That was 1999 and I have not put my camera down since then.
I made the switch to digital in 2005 but still use my 4X5 Wista occasionally.
My areas of concentration are Portrait and Landscape with an occasional Architectural project.
