ENTRY DESCRIPTION
In the rainforest of Africa live the last specimens of this species in the past must have been very large. Today the species is seriously endangered by the illegal bushmeat trade and the destruction of their last refuges. Some examples like this, photographed in a natural island in the Park live in the countryside Lekedi safe from poachers. This type of natural forested islands are worked extraordinarily ensuring the survival of species such as gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and all kinds of endangered primates.

Award winning Photographer of Spain in international competitions. Francisco Mingorance was devoted to nature photography professionally for three decades. For over twenty five years he has worked as a photojournalist for the vast majority of magazines, newspapers and issues most important in the world, also has published over a hundred articles on the Spanish nature in specialized areas such as Natura, National Geographic, International Widelife, Terre Sauvage, BBC, Oasis, Geo, Very Interesting, the Weekly País, El Mundo, ABC, week and so on. Many of these works have been recognized with several awards, not only in Spain but in the rest of the world, only in the last four years Mingorance Francisco has earned more than one hundred international awards including four Windland Smith Rice on International Awards 2010 and four in the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010 being the most awarded photographer in both competitions. Also the photos were used to illustrate the pages of more than twenty books and source of learning have inspired many generations of nature photographers. Currently working on the development of various reports for the international edition of National Geographic.
