Architecture: Honorable Mention 2016 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is a shot of the United States Air Force Memorial, which consists of tall curved steel spires which extend upwards into the sky, representing the contrails of a bomb burst maneuver. The tallest spire stretches 270 feet (82 meters) into the air, making it a easily recognizable landmark in the metro DC area. However, I chose to shoot the memorial in a way that's not easily recognizable, from a perspective that makes it resemble a crown, a symbol of dominance and superiority.
