Architecture: Honorable Mention 2016 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I took this photo standing under the bridge at Deception Pass on Fidalgo Island in Washinton, US. George Vancouver gave it the name "Deception" because it had misled him into thinking Whidbey Island was a peninsula. The "deception" was heightened due to Whidbey's failure to find the strait at first. There are a mixture of currents that flow through the pass that makes it extremely dangerous to boat across. It seemed only fitting to take this photo topsy turvy; I simply turned my camera upside to take this shot.
