ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This collection documents my 11,000 mile road trip across North America in Fall of 2014. The culture in the United States is changing and traditional values are being replaced by new values held by younger generations. Family structure, beliefs, entertainment, cultural practices, and many other things that define America are constantly changing. The culture changes so fast and people have trouble adapting. Then we find ourselves divided instead of united.
AUTHOR
I started traveling in 2009 and became one of two thousand members in the world who belonged to the Travelers Century Club for people who have visited over 100 countries. I also became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and started a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Agency providing treatment to people like my brother who have Autism. Despite my career path I have always been an artist at heart. My mom introduced me to oil painting at a young age and I bought my first film camera freshman year of high school. My interest in photography grew after using my compact camera during my extensive travels and I eventually upgraded to a DSLR. I never went to photography school. However, I taught myself how to become a photographer by analyzing photographs taken by the greats, practicing my ass off, and reading dozens of books about photography. Recently, I came to the conclusion that I have a preference for street, documentary, and travel photography after exploring various types of subjects over the years.
