ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photograph was taken in 2015 during my vacation in Zeeland. It displays the Zeeland Bridge.
The Zeeland Bridge is the longest bridge in the Netherlands. The bridge spans the Oosterschelde estuary. It connects the islands of Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland in the province of Zeeland.
The Zeeland Bridge was built between 1963 and 1965. At the time of its completion, it was the longest bridge of Europe. It has a total length of 5,022 metres, and consists of 48 spans of 95 metres, 2 spans of 72.5 metres and a movable bridge with a width of 40 metres.
The province of Zeeland borrowed the money for the construction of the bridge. The loan was repaid by levying tolls for the first 24 years.
AUTHOR
I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN PHOTOGRAPHY FOR AROUND 8 YEARS NOW. 2 YEARS AGO I DEVELOPED THE IDEA THAT ART EXTENDS THE POSSIBILITIES OF A CAMERA SOLEY AND ADDS A PERSONAL NOTE TO THE IMAGES TAKEN. INSPIRED BY JOEL TJINTJELAAR, ANNA GOSPODAROU, AARON NACE, AND TREY RATCLIFF I STARTED TEACHING MYSELF PHOTOSHOP. MY MAIN FOCUS LIES ON FINE ART BLACK & WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY AND PROCESSING.
PERCEPTION IS THE ORGANIZATION, IDENTIFICATION, AND INTERPRETATION OF SENSORY INFORMATION IN ORDER TO REPRESENT AND UNDERSTAND THE ENVIRONMENT.
CREATION IS THE ACT OF MAKING OR PRODUCING SOMETHING THAT DID NOT EXIST BEFORE.
ART IS SOMETHING THAT IS CREATED WITH IMAGINATION AND SKILL AND THAT IS BEAUTIFUL OR THAT EXPRESSES IMPORTANT IDEAS OR FEELINGS.
FINE ART, EVENTUALLY, IS A VISUAL ART CONSIDERED TO HAVE BEEN CREATED PRIMARILY FOR AESTHETIC AND INTELLECTUAL PURPOSES AND JUDGED FOR ITS BEAUTY AND MEANINGFULLNESS, SPECIFICALLY, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, DRAWING, WATERCOLOR, GRAPHICS, AND ARCHITECTURE.
