Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2016 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Rowan Tree / Buttermere / Cumbria / UK
It was rather amusing to embellish this fragile tree, with a fanciful crown of clouds. The rising sun didn't reach the valley yet. Despite the modest light, the soundless lake surface gives rise to remarkable reflections.
AUTHOR
Since some time landscape photography is my passion. Weather elements and beautiful light give a great thrill. The silent, pleasant moments facilitate meditation. I prefer any form of contemplative photography. With my photography I try to provide places of rest, scenes of tranquility in this turbulent world. I just like to stop the time. Therefore touches of stillness and temporality frequently return in my images. Inspired by eastern mysticism, I like to capture contrasts, for example between short-term magical moments and solid natural sculptures. Balance, shape and composition are major components. And I love a bit off natural surrealism.
