ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Thor's Well, located at Cape Perpetua off the Oregon coast, taken around high tide. The rough waters funneling into the collapsed cavern on the coast foreshadows the incoming storm on the horizon. The conditions in this area can get very treacherous around high tide, depending on the direction of the ocean swells. It's a very high risk/high rewards area to shoot, as my goal was to capture the duality between the beauty of Thor's Well and its peril.

AUTHOR
Mark Chen is a self-taught photographer based out of the Washington DC area. Having studied and worked as an engineer, he took up photography as an outlet to express his creative side. He enjoys working within all genres of photography, and does not hesitate to explore outside his comfort zone.
