ENTRY DESCRIPTION
By the coast of Thailand, sailors bring tourists, employees, fishermen and goods to hidden beaches and untouched islands using their makeshift boats. Exposed to the elements of the Andaman Sea, the salt-crusted engines must constantly be tweaked and adjusted by the boatsmen. Each motor is unique, constructed by the spare parts of other mechanics and engines such as tractors, scooters or cars, yet all share the same long-tailed propeller that is necessary to safely maneuver the beaches during low-tides. All sailors must be strong in build. Operating one of these takes stamina, strength, and a keen understanding of the Andaman Sea's rhythms.
