Photojournalism: Honorable Mention 2016 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This picture was taken at a brick kiln where these women were transferring the bricks from the kiln area to the truck standing beside. These females were carrying almost 10-12 bricks, all together on their head. The working condition was quite tough. Dust coming out, was making breathing difficult.
Majority of brick kilns use wood and coal for baking the bricks which makes the brick kiln workers susceptible to high exposure of air pollution. All the workers were exposed to dust which is again dangerous to the human beings.
AUTHOR
I am a non professional photographer, doing photography as a hobby for the last one year. I used to click pictures with my digital camera, but never thought of developing it as a hobby. Later I thought of having one DSLR and to develop photography as a hobby. This hobby has changed in my vision. I have started seeing things in an artistic way. My work has been recognized at international and national level. I like to capture candid moments on streets, people, their life, and also of nature and fine art. My pictures are now showcased worldwide, and have been published in numerous coffee table books.
