Skin seeds project :
Soft, dry, wrinkled, gritty, white, black or tanned ... skins are fascinating ... Social marker, stakes of belonging or rejection, they are the first channel of our communication as well as testimony of our personal history and that of our ancestors.
Standardization (so usual in our modern society) seams to apply to skins too. On paper or computer bytes, the skin that sells is smooth, sharp and clearer than that of the audience.
I admire for my part the diversity of skins. I love to see its structure appear under the lights of my studio, and back on my computer or in the laboratory, to scratch, bother, polish those skins to reveal the texture that moves me.
Captured with a High Definition Camera, one of the interests of this images is the detailed texture of the skins, which can't be seen on a 900 px export.
AUTHOR
In the 90's, at school, I win my first photo contests, which gives my enough patience to save money and finally buy my first Nikon FM. I borrow my father's lenses to take my first black and white pictures and reveal them in the college lab. In 2002, once graduated as a geologist, I realized my first photo reportage on the Andes volcanoes. During the following years, I managed to combine photography, volcanology and hydrology to travel around the word. From 2004 to 2013, I visit Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Italy, Canary Islands, Costa-Rica, Nicaragua, Lesser Antilles, Guyana, Haiti, Benin ...) and show my work through several exhibitions and conferences. During those years, landscapes pictures are progressively replaced by portraits and social photography. During my stays back at home, in Marseille, France, I keep shooting with my camera and realize I could try to live as a photographer. I though decide to try in 2014.
Special note : Even if I consider I am a professional photographer, and introduce myself that way, I still do not receive half of my salary from this activity. Therefore, I registered as an Amateur on this contest.
