ENTRY DESCRIPTION
It was a cold day in December of 2013, I met one couple of yaks and one couple of kiangs under the snow-covered mountain of Hoh Xil (Qinghai, China). These two lovely couples attracted me right away. They accompanied to their partner peacefully and walked leisurely in this quiet snowy world. Their love warmed me up and none of us were alone at that moment.
AUTHOR
I was born in 1985 in Qinghai province, one of the largest provinces of China in the Tibetan Plateau, frequently referred to as the Roof of the World. I left my hometown when I was 18 to pursue a high-level degree. After that, I was constantly on the move, from one large city to another. However, in the deepest parts of my heart, I felt the call of my hometown. Therefore, after four years’ work in Melbourne, Australia, I decided to come back to Qinghai and establish my business here. Once back, I started to reveal and record the beauty and serenity of my mysterious hometown.
Qinghai is famous for its landscapes and natural resources. It is home to the second largest saltwater lake in the world, Qinghai Lake, as well as the Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve, which contains the headwaters of the Yellow River, Yangtze River (Long River), and Mekong River. The climate, with the high altitude (3000-6500 meters) and range of majestic snow-covered mountains, cultivates various peaceful religious groups and allows them to lead harmonious and faithful lives. Meanwhile, the special natural environment is also a heaven for little creatures. Birds, yaks, Tibetan antelopes, and many other little angels enjoy their life in Bird Island, Hoh Xil, and deep in the mountains in Qinghai. I love to visit them, meet with them, feel them, and be inspired by them. Yes, I am in Qinghai; here is my home and here are all my family members. I find my freedom here.
