Sometimes wildlife is more tied to us, to our cities, than what we think. This black-headed gull is taking advantage of the glass roof of the Great Court of the British Museum in London for an easy supply of food. I had the telephoto with my travel camera, so I had the chance to take this picture of the bird framed in the very intriguing geometries of the stunning metal structure of the roof. I think this kind of scenes of urban wildlife are just perfect in a dramatic black and white.
AUTHOR
Born and raised in Abruzzo, one of the wildest regions of Italy, I’m an amateur nature and wildlife photographer since a little more than 10 years. The interest for wildlife and photography was strong since childhood, even if, as a photographer, the spark that made me concentrate my activities only on nature and astrophotography arrived later after some years of interest in street and travel photography. Curiosity and the constant desire to learn and to take action in conservation, lead me to point my lens at different subjects, from the earth and its beings to the depths of the universe. With my photos I hope to sensitize people to the protection of endangered ecosystems and eventually increase their awareness to conservationist themes. Some of my photos has been featured in magazines and books and has been awarded in national and international contests.
