ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Photograph made in Grand Canal Dock in Dublin (Ireland), using 4x5 large format camera and black and white negative film.
It's a record of ongoing development of Dublin's Docklands area which was on hold for a few years after economy collapse in first decade of 2000.
New structure consist of three towers mainly offices but also 204 residential units. The main tower will be up 23 storeys.
All development was designed by O’Mahony Pike Architects .
AUTHOR
Artur graduated in Architecture and Urban Design from Krakow University of Technology in 2000 and spent 10 years working as an architect. He started his photography career in 2007, slowly stepping away from the architectural designer’s path. Passion for architecture has been always there and will remain as such, but the form of expression has changed. In 2011 Artur was awarded ‘Black and White Photographer of the Year’ in ‘Time’ single image category by ‘Black+White Photography’, UK based magazine and nominated in a few categories in 2012, 2015 and 2017 editions of the same competition. Since then his works have been exhibited and published several times in Ireland, UK, Germany, France, US, Canada, Hungary and Poland (photography magazines, architectural magazines and newspapers). This includes photographs from a personal and commercial portfolio.
