Fine Art: Honorable Mention 2016 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image is taken at Stokksnes lava dunes at the south east part of Iceland. I initially wanted to photograph a golden sunset. However, Iceland’s unpredictable winter weather had other plans, instead I was greeted with a gloomy overcasting day with showers. Normally, this kind of condition is really bad for landscape photography, but somehow I found this washed out muted color suits very well with this dramatic location. When the tides went down, I found these sand ripples closely resemble the shape of the new moon with peaks of Vestrahorn Mountain in the reflection.
